ELLIS MARTINOVICH WAKEBOARD CAMPELLIS WAKEBOARD CAMP

Name: Ellis Martinovich
Age: 14
Where you're from: Danville Ca.
Where you like to ride: Lake Tulloch

Background info: Give one paragraph to tell the readers about yourself
I was born and raised in northern California. I started wakeboarding when I was seven years old, and haven’t taken off my board since. I am fortunate enough to have a cabin on Lake Tulloch, and being able to ride all year, as our boat sits on our dock year round. I have gone to West Coast Camps the past three summers, and after every week I am begging my parents to let me stay another week. All year I look forward to summer so I can go to another few weeks of camp, not only to learn new tricks, but perfect my old ones.
Accomplishments; (In wakeboarding or academically)
My largest accomplishment was my first flip. It was a hs Mexican backroll. I learned it at camp and my coach at the time was Mike Schweene. I’ll never forget that moment.

What is your setup?
I ride the tribute board with the Ronix One bindings

What do you like most about wakeboarding?
The part I like most about wakeboarding is when I learn a new trick, it’s the best feeling in the world.

i t’s intimidating to learn new tricks.  How do you conquer your fears, and push yourselves to constantly improve your riding?
When I am at camp, all the coaches and everyone in the boat give me lots of support, but outside of camp, it would be my dad, or my brother, Jake.

Would you rather...be known for your style, amplitude (how big you go), or technicality?
I would rather be known for my technicality. It’s one thing to learn a trick but when you add your own style to it, that shows you’ve really mastered the trick.

What do you think would be the best thing about being a pro wakeboarder?
For me it would be being able to be paid for doing what you love all year long, and traveling to all the most beautiful places in the country to do my job.

6.  If you could do any trick on a wakeboard, which would it be.
A whirly-5.

7. Would you rather... Ride like Ben Greenwood, Randall Harris, Shawn Watson, Chris O'Sea, Collin Harrington, or Danny Harf.
Ben Greenwood because of all the steeze he puts into his tricks.

8. Name one pro wakeboarder that you'd like to meet and why.
I would like to meet Randall Harris because seeing how big he rides in real life would be amazing.

9.Would you rather...Be pro for a year and never be allowed to wakeboard again...or be able to wakeboard for the rest of your life but be limited to only grabs and 180's.
I would be happy doing grabs and 180’s.

10. What are your goals for 2009?
Perfect all my current inverts and spins, and pick up two 540’s plus more inverts.

11. Would you rather...only be able to spin or only be able to flip?
I really enjoy flipping but I would choose spins because in my opinion spinning shows true mastery of wakeboarding.

12. Would you rather...Have to ride the Delta one time in January without a wetsuit or ride all summer with a 4/3 wetsuit?
I would rather ride the Delta once with no wetsuit.

13. What tricks did you learn last year?
Ts 360, tantrum, frontroll, scarecrow, ts backroll, hs bs 360, getting up backwards, a few more…

14. What tricks would you like to learn this year?
Ts backroll to revert, sw. hs 540, ts 540, tootsie roll, backroll to revert

Who would you like to thank?
All the West Coast Camps coaches, and my dad for getting me into the sport.
